Understanding your business purpose and
ensuring your technology support
Understanding your vision and purpose
Understanding your business drivers is our first purpose. That starts by looking at your business vision and appreciating what you are trying to achieve. To support your aims, Network Interlinks can then help you to apply technology.
Understanding your business challenge
In any business situation you have risks to mitigate and opportunities to realise. The right technology should help you do both. Having understood your vision and purpose we look at the more immediate challenges you are facing. The problems and risks that may frustrate and threaten your progress are identified. Then we ensure we’ve fully understood your opportunities. This means that the right combination of technology and infrastructure can be defined, which helps you make the most of them.
Understanding the value you require
Your business has a set of priorities and financial-performance requirements that are specific. By understanding both of these aspects, we propose a solution that brings all the benefits you need, and more besides. We are serious about creating value for each of our clients and we believe this is key to the long-term relationships we have built. We always recommend solutions that make the most business sense from your perspective, even where these solutions may deliver less short-term profit for us. Long-term, that makes better business sense for everyone.
We look to reduce your costs and capital expenditure wherever possible, not only in the solutions we provide but also by freeing up space and other assets so that you can put them to more profitable use. Most of all, we are clear and upfront with you about costs. No one likes nasty surprises and we understand that you need to make business choices based on the full cost picture, not just part of it.
Defining the right solution for you
Because we understand your needs from a business perspective, we take care to recommend the right solution, not simply the latest fad. We will always look at your existing technology and incorporate whichever elements still make sense for your future plans. Equally, we are careful to ensure you have as much ongoing flexibility as possible.
We help you avoid technological dead ends. Change can happen rapidly and technology must be able to respond if it is to support the ongoing success of your business. Ensuring a smooth transition to new technology is also something we consider from the outset. Again, your requirements are unique in this respect and, because we start by understanding your business, we know how to avoid costly disruption and ensure your staff are properly supported both through the transition and beyond.
Our clients range in size and type but each organisation we work for is an expert at what it does. Like them, you deserve excellence and expertise from your technology partner. The value we always work to add to this is a business focus that ensures your technology is fully-aligned to your business purpose.
Cybercrime continues to be an issue for small & midsize businesses.
Yesterday the BBC reported that more than 50% of UK businesses have suffered ransomware attacks in the last year. This is the greatest single risk to IT networks and business performance. We have helped a number of companies, in the past few weeks, recover from recent attacks. However, the cost in terms of lost time and sales revenue has in some cases been significant.
We believe prevention is better than cure and have outlined the issue and methods to avoid the angst and potential loss of sales revenue below:
How does it work?
Ransomware is a type of malicious software designed to block access to business data by encrypting and renaming files. The bug usually travels into the IT network through email or downloadable internet files, programmes or applications.
A demand for a sum of money is made and usually payable in bitcoins. These are untraceable so the perpetrator escapes with the cash – usually in the region of £2,500.
Decrypting files without the decryption key is complex and time consuming. As a result organisations and businesses must weigh up whether they wish to part with the ransom or lose time, precious data and incur costs for IT consultants to solve the issue.
How do I prevent it?
Enforce good security practices within the businesses IT networks by employing effective anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spam products to improve the chance of detection before infection.
This includes educating the workforce to the dangers of downloading information from an unknown source.
